Positionality Statement

The lens through which I experience the world, and therefore approach my work as a sexuality educator has been informed by a variety of factors. I am a white, mid-forties, middle-class, married, US citizen. I have the privilege of appearing to be in a straight-heterosexual relationship, but I identify as queer. I am fat. I am childfree after infertility. I am non-religious and agnostic but spent my teen and young adult years in the Mormon Church. I like when people use she & they interchangeably when referring to me. I have a chronic illness (MCAS) that significantly impacts the kind of work and amount of work I can do without detriment to my health.
